Things That Feel
Working on getting some thoughts out of my head and back onto paper, but for this evening I’m fighting “just write it” procrastination / brain block / call it what you will. Just like my toddler frequently experiences, there have been a lot of “big feelings” lately. So here’s a few things that have felt…
Cold:
Brisk Colorado winter air, missing regular playdates with family now distant
Warm:
Candle-and-iPad-Fireplace-Ambiance to accompany cold winter evenings.
Also, far more substantively, the hugs that go with “Have a great day at school, bud!” and “Honey, I’m home!” and “Kiss it better, dad?”
Melancholy:
A shattered Christmas ornament with broken memories.
Filled:
Rosy-cheeked pajamaed toddlers who interrupt evening work sessions asking for lap-sitting book-reading and one last bedtime “squeeze.”
